These pieces really were just an experiment in having fun. In finding some joy in creating again. In struggling through the “job” aspects of creating and finding the “I need this” part of creating. Just seeing what comes without any vision in mind. My hands gravitated to every color in the book which I think speaks a lot to the chaos in my personal life right now. Each shade representing a different perspective of the narrative that is 2024. I chose small scale pieces because it truly brings me joy when I can make local art more accessible to the public. When someone out there who would maybe love to purchase one of a kind, hand painted, artwork, but hasn’t been in a place to, finally see’s something they can take home. I don’t really make anything off of these small scale pieces and that’s honestly part of the joy for me.
